What is the Nordic Swan Ecolabel?
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is an environmental certification developed in 1989 by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Based on holistic life cycle assessments, it helps companies reduce the environmental impacts of the production and consumption of goods. Criteria are available for a wide range of consumer products such as candles and toys, but also for larger items, including new buildings.
What does it mean if a building has the Nordic Swan Ecolabel?
The requirements of the Nordic Swan Ecolabel promote resource efficiency, reduced climate impact, a non-toxic circular economy and conservation of biodiversity. They also promote buildings with good indoor climate and high quality.
A Nordic Swan Ecolabel building is therefore a better choice for both the environment and the building occupants.
